I'm in the Las Vegas area. I have a Garnet colored pickup with a 305 LT1 engine and a 700R4 trans, 4 wheel disc brakes, lowered 2 in the front and 3 in the rear and Crager SS mags with knock off centers. I need to redo the wood in the bed, and I want to use Wormy Maple, like Stacey did in the Harry Hauler. Did he use any stain on that wood or just clear coat? Thanks.

I love the truck.  Garnett is a very underused color.  But what depth it has.

Also, how do you like the 305/700R4 combo?

Thank you. The 305 is out of an 86 Camero, but the top end is L81 TPI. It has a 3:73 rear gear, and gets a tremendous amount of low end torque. It runs very smooth.

Very nice truck. The garnet and chrome go very well together. I also like the fact that you took the utilitarian look out of it by lowering the back enough to set a mostly level stance. I know that this is out of the ordinary for most people but, since you live in a dry climate that is not friendly to wood, have you considered composite decking in the bed?. I have a color called tiki torch cut and mocked in the bed of my 54' and it looks great. There is a lot of cutting involved. Just an idea.IMG_0915.JPG

Thanks for the nice words and the idea of the Tiki wood. As you've assumed, the previous owner did not seal the wood, and it is starting to deteriorate. I already have a wood picked out from Bed Wood, that I will be doing this fall/winter, and when it is done, I will post a new pic.

Those Cragar wheels look really sharp.

As Kurganhunter said, that slightly lowered rear looks really nice.

Good eye Kurganhunter.

I love the color. That is very similar to the color I am considering for my ride.
