Hello I'm planning on building a relatively high performance 600 HP or above 5.9L (6BT) Cummins engine I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with the Xiangyang Center Machinery Component Co., Ltd, ? It appears that the manufacture a lightweight (possibly aluminum 6BT Cummins engine block) that has a gross weight of 150 Kg. Since this engine block is roughly 500 Lbs lighter than a cast iron version if this engine block is able to achieve the same performance specs as the cast iron version it would be compatible with many other vehicles that were previously unheard of with the 6BT Cummins. Thanks in advance for any and all thoughts, opinions, or answers.

I had not heard about the possibility of an aluminum block for a 5.9L cummins, but I've got friends that are diesel mechanics and I'll ask them.

As a side question, you might contact the guys at http://www.dieselsellerz.com/ .  They are out of Woods Cross, Utah, which is just north of Salt Lake City.

After I ask around, I'll post what I found out.

I just got off the phone with ONE of my master mechanic buddies.  He had not heard about it.  So I'll do more research and keep talking to people.  I'll report back here once I've found out more info.
