I just visited here and thought I would post this in the 'Welcome' forum.
I've been a Gearhead for ever. I'm 62 and have owned a lot of vehicles over that time.
My first ride was a 1964 1/2 Mustang convertible with a 289 V8 and a four speed. It had a Shelby race cam and mechanical lifters. I used to adjust the lifters before going out to drag the town.
That was Houston, Texas back in 1971 ish. I graduated high school in 1972 after repeating the 11th grade, mainly because I didn't actually go to a lot of my classes. Never actually got in trouble, but if you didn't turn in the work and not show up for your final, well you just didn't get passed on up to the next class.
Before you make any noises about the 'hair' - it WAS all the style. A friend of mine got married a year or so later and here is a pix of me in a tux with a little more hair
Like I said, all the style.
I've owned over twenty cars, trucks and four different motorcycles with the last one my 1989 Harley for twenty years. From motorcycles to muscle cars to 4x4's to military vehicles to sports cars, I've owned a few.
These days, I drive a 2007 Dodge Magnum. I look forward to meeting you all over the next few weeks and months.
I've known Stacey for at least ten years, probably longer. As I get older, my memory gets, uh, swiss cheese would be a good comparator.
Here he is in his office at the 'old' studio.
This is back in 2008 with Stacey.
We had a great time attending the premiere of the second season of Gearz.
Here we both are at SEMA 2011. Note that he doesn't have to wear his pass...
I also got to meet and get the autograph of "THE KING"
I still have the shirt signed by Mr. Petty.
Do you recognize either of these people?
I have one of Rutledge Wood as well. But I can't find it right now, when I do, I will post it.
Going to SEMA was on my BUCKET LIST. I've only got a couple more
Here is a more recent picture of me late last year in WACO. With my Mom on the left and my wife on MY RIGHT, we are standing next to a piece of artwork I did for Chip & Joanna Gaines from 'Fixer Upper'.
