The Chevelle SE was NOT a factory produced car. The SE was created by a company in Witchita, Kansas called Special Editions, Inc. who modified a mere fifty (yes, 50!) 1977 Chevelle Malibus with aftermarket (not factory) goodies which included a front air dam, a rear spoiler, 60 series tires on Turbine II aluminum wheels and a special orange and yellow stripe package.

It took me 16 years to find and secure one BUT Lightning struck twice and bought two from same Owner, The one I have is a 305 powered car for now, I am currently building a 454 for a transplant. Thanks for letting me Join and enjoy the Pictures

Brutal? That's where I'm doing my bodywork. It's too messy to do inside. That's looking great. Maybe there will be car shows soon. I want to get mine finished. It's good that you can improvise while you are healing. You can have your daughter work on all of the higher stuff that you cannot reach from the chair lol. I just picked up my : high build primer, black sealer, paint, clear and all of the reducers and hardeners. I'm hoping to paint Tuesday. I'm going to prime, sand, and seal outside. Once prepped for paint, I will back it in and finish the booth. Don't forget to seal your work. The paint solvents will sink into unsealed filler over time. Keep working and more important keep healing. Mike

Yes sir Mike It has primer sealer on it now BUT it will need some final block sanding on it to be as good as I want it to be

Have you looked into a Harbor Freight dome carport as a "body shop" ? I took their peak roof canopy and made a spray booth (see pvc paint booth post). Keep moving forward and healing. Mike

Everyone asks what should I work on first...?  While there is some what of a necessary order of tasks, I tell people to work on "anything" that feels right.  I think I started the Ranchero project by working on the Center caps for the wheel...you get a small success that helps you build momentum.  And if you have a setback, step back, work on some other aspect of the project and come back to the problem with a fresh eyes.

I really enjoy the uniqueness of this build...✌

Thank Joe yea i know what you mean, Reason I started on Quarters first is the Previous Owner had a Body Shop in Kansas his kinda lack of proper sealing led to surface rust working it self thru the the surface so Had to address that first then I will be attacking rest of car as soon as Possible

Well i got brave and Pulled the lower rocker trim off and Much to My surprise there was only one other spot that will need a Patch THANK GOD for that I did apply some primer filler there on it that I could see the Pin holes also so I don't miss them when I cut it out for a Patch NOW just drive side fender and roof, I have also decided to scuff the hood when ready for paint later this Summer so all colors match.

You are brave. Yet, it had to be done. It's always scary toking off that wide rocker trim from a 70's car😲. You never know what you will find. It looks like you are making great progress. Keep healing and keep moving forward. Mike
