Hey guys, started in to tuning up my friends 70.5 split bumper pro street camaro. When went to move it in my shop I found a 2' puddle of dyno blue race fuel on the ground! Not a good sign.... after looking into it more I found that the when you turn on the fuel pump the carb starts acting like a sprinkler in a /greenhouse! both bowls were leaking and so were the accelerator pumps! I took the carb off and checked all of the screws they were all loose by at least half a turn! So I tightened up the screws and it got better but one pump was still leaking. So I started looking for a rebuild kit and to my surprise Barry Grant is out of business! Trying to find that actual part no on this carb was impossible until I tore it down. I finally found that it was a 750 and they wrote it on the carb under the bowl in sharpie !!! I ordered a Speed Demon rebuild kit from summit and it had all of the parts I needed! I really nice straight forward carb! I just need to get a second hand in the garage to help tune the carb.  If anybody needs an 800cfm Barry Grant silver claw custom carb from the early 90's let me know. He has one in his closet. I am trying to go through the rest of the systems to make sure it is roadworthy. Can't wait to take it for a burn! Does anybody know how to figure out what I should set the timing too? There is a lot about this engine that I don't know about. All I do know is that it is a LS454 with Canfield Aluminum heads I don't know the size the cam nothing I do know that it has a 750 carb and the 800 was too big. And it runs on race fuel only! I would like to lower the compression to run pump gas but not sure how to go about it... Can I install thicker head gaskets? And readjust the rockers and valve-train? I would really like to make this thing more street friendly so that I can stop and get pump gas while out cruising! Let me know what you think.

1964K10, They say "attitude is everything" When it comes to timing, " altitude is. I would check with the local speed shop to steer you in the right direction. Now quit teasing us and show some pics of the whole car, Mike

As you can see she's pretty awesome! for a 25yr old build! That's my friend Earl he's the owner at a very young 73yrs old! He's still able to climb through the window when the battery is too low to pop the damn doors open once you get to the show! 😐 That's one of my next things to fix! Cool look pain in the ass when they don't work especially when your sitting in it! And you can't get out!

Now, I feel like I was just at a car show. Thanks for sharing. Speaking of car shows, the Good Guys hosted a virtual online show two weeks ago. The will be doing another in the near future. Keep your eyes to the computer for details. No, it's not the same. But, it's what we have for now.

I just got laid off for the first time in 28yrs do to the stupid virus! I have a friend that is a farmer, he has a Toro Flow diesel 1965 GMC dump truck. He offered the drivetrain to me for free plus an extra engine! I am going to take advantage of this time off and go pull the drive train and then modify the frame to make it a farm dump trailer! He can pull with his tractor. I am hoping to get it running and install in my 1964 chevy k10! Super excited to see what I can accomplish with it! I love unique things obviously! lol this could really make it super unique! Hexagon black stack up behind the cab! Can't wait and don't worry pics will follow!
